In order to provide an accurate diminution in value I instructed Alex Carmichael of Carmichael Chartered Surveyors to produce a RICS Expert Witness Report.
Unbeknown to me at the time, an ordinary Law Society of Scotland Expert Witness cannot provide this information unless they are qualified as a Chartered Surveyor.
Furthermore, if I was to complain to RICS about Shepherd Chartered Surveyors then it would be prudent to provide a report from someone within a superior position, i.e. a RICS Expert Witness.
Alex swiftly provided me with his report and a diminution in value of £15,000 or thereby. In addition to the problems within the loft space Alex identified some other matters that were of concern to him.
Despite the mountain evidence, Shepherd Chartered Surveyors continued to refute the allegations against them. The funds allocated by my home insurer had been exhausted by Jackson Boyd and not enough was left to continue to court.
