In addition to raising my complaint with Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, I also filed a complaint with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Remember, I had one Law Society of Scotland Expert Witness (MPR Consultants) and two RICS Expert Witnesses (Carmichael Surveyors and DHKK) all state in their reports that the surveyor had failed to identify one or more issues within my property.
I felt it was important to notify RICS and ensure they held Shepherd Chartered Surveyors to higher standards. Their reply cannot be shared as it is marked Private and Confidential. Ultimately they stated there is not sufficient evidence so the case was closed without further action.
This led me down a rabbit hole trying to understand if RICS is fit for purpose, and I stumbled across a number of articles which suggest otherwise. This page will be updated as new articles come to light.
